The River Katun – is called “the hostess of Altai”. The Katun flows in deep canyons with high terraces; frequently it is compared with famous Grand – Canyon in America. This main waterway of Altai originates from a mountain of Belukha, from a Gebler glacier. The character of the river varies on all its length, from the typically mountain river, with the large fall and complex rapids up to plain, running slowly and majestically.
It is the most popular and visited river of Altai. It is caused by its availability and at the same time beautiful and unique places which it passes.
The rafting on this river is accessible to all people no matter experience. The exciting memoirs of passing complex rapids, of taiga and good company will stay in your memory for a long time and will brighten up the routine of urban everyday life.

The program of the rafting trip
Day 1 Arrival to Barnaul. Trip to the start of the rout (10 hours) with a stop for dinner. Night on a side of the river Katun. Evening of acquaintances.
Day 2 Rafting on the river Katun. Rapids “Ilgumenskiy” (4 class). Camping at the river Ailagush.
Day 3 Rafting of the rapid “Kadrinskya Truba”, rocky corridors (rapids of 3-4 classes)
Day 4 Rafting of the rapid “Shabash”(4 class). Night in a mouth of the river Kayancha.
Day 5 Day of rest on the side of the River Katun. Banya! Excursion to petroglyphs (figures on the rocks) aged about 5000 years. Fishing. Sports and other games.
Day 6 Rafting up to a mouth of the River Edigan. (rapids 3 class).
Day 7 Rafting up to a resort Chemal. Passage of rapids “Teldekpen” and “Elandinskiy”.
Day 8 Departure by bus to Barnaul. Hotel “Barnaul”.

This route is a longer variant of a classical rafting on Katun. It will allow you to get acquainted with main waterway of Altai – River Katun. You will go by the legendary Chuisky H ighway, see Seminsky pass (2009 m.), Chike-Taman pass and visit the places where N. Roerich was staying. The exciting moments of rafting, meeting with archaeological monuments and interesting landscapes will stay forever in memory.
The given route does not demand special preparation.

THE PROGRAM of TRAVEL
Day 1 Meeting at the airport, station. Easy breakfast. Trip by bus on a route: Barnaul – Biysk – Gorno-Altaisk – Ust-Kan – Tungur. Dinner. Evening of acquaintances.
Day 2 Preparing of equipment, instructing. Rafting up to a mouth of river Akkem.
Day 3 Passage of the Akkem rapid, rocky corridors, high waves (4 – 4 + class).
Day 4 Rafting up to a mouth of river Yaloman. Rapids 2 – 3 classes. Fishing.
Day 5 Rafting up to a mouth of the river Kuzur. Rapids “Ilgumenskiy”and “Kadrinskay truba” (2 – 4 classes).
Day 6 Day of rest. Sports games. Banya.
Day 7 Rafting. Rapd “Shabash” (4 class).Fishing. Survey of petroglyphs.
Day 8 Rafting up to a mouth of the river Edigan. Rapids (3 class).
Day 9 Rafting up to a resort Chemal. Rapids (3 class). Survey of a site of Katun HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATION.
Day 10 Departure: Chemal – Gorno-Altaisk – Byisk – Barnaul.
