Edinburgh Festival Fringe
From the 04th till the 29th of August Edinburgh plays home to the world’s finest creative festival -The Fringe is Edinburgh’s biggest, in facts it’s Scotland’s biggest, nope it’s the world’s biggest celebration of arts and culture and it is happening right now in Edinburgh!!
Why visit the Fringe?
There is something for everyone, whatever your cup of tea is in terms of art, performance, dance, comedy, theater, circus, cabaret, children’s performers, musicals, operas, spoken words, street performers and more ie there is a show or performance for you. In 2016 there was over 50,000 performances, 2017 is shaping up to surpass that !! So there is sure to be something for you. This year is extra unique as it is the Fringes 70th anniversary. The festival started back in 1947 and has grown from strength to strength over the years to become the world’s largest and best arts and culture festival – and it’s happening right now in down town Edinburgh.
Getting to Edinburgh
Edinburgh is an easy city to get to due to its fantastic transport links. It has an airport, rail and road links and when you arrive in the city it has trams, train, bus and taxis a plenty. After the Fringe
So you have traveled halfway around the world or just popped over from Europe (or wherever) and you have done the arts and the culture, you’ve seen hundreds of street performers and some great shows, eaten a portion of chips with Salt and Sauce and you’re now looking to experience something away from the hustle and bustle of the world’s largest and busiest arts and culture festival. Our white water rafting base is situated in the scenic highland town of Aberfeldy, this small town is an artistic hub in Highland Perthshire area with over ten local art galleries, independent coffee merchants, excellent pubs, accommodation and restaurants. There is also scenic walks like the Birks of Aberfeldy, ancient standing stones like the time transporting stones of Outlander and spectacular Lochs like Loch Tay, an amazing place to paint or relax. The scenery all over Highlands Perthshire is reminiscent of hit TV and movies like Highlander and Outlander.
Now if you’re looking for adventure then we can deliver, we have white water rafting on multiple rivers (Tay | Tummel ) to cater for all levels of adventurer. We have other water activities like River bugs a small one person craft, river duckies which resemble an inflatable canoe, as well as Stand up Paddle boards, Canyoning and more. If you’re looking for some dry adventures we have Paintball, Abseiling and Quad biking. We also have Dewars Whisky as our next door neighbour and can arrange one of their excellent tours to see how the golden nectar is made and for sure there is a few samples on the tour!.
