Raft guide courses with Splash White Water Rafting, Scotland UK
Splash White Water Rafting run four Raft Guide training courses each year. These are SRA 'Scottish Rafting Association' 6 dayRaft Guide Training Courses which is the IRF 'International Rafting Federation' approved qualification for raft guides.
To gain work in Scotland with one of 7 main rafting companies you need a SRA/IRF qualification. Any other raft guide course run in Scotland without SRA approval will not be a recognised qualification.
With this qualification you can obtain paid work as a guide in Scotland and in over 30 international countries.

£575 residential ask for non residential prices
Minimum of 10 students required to run course. A maximum of 15 on any course.

Splash Adventure Guide Course 1 Feb-13 March 2009
The above course is a 6 week course for those who are new to the industry but want to progress rapidly. The course base will be our adventure lodge in Aberfeldy but extensive travel within Scotland and Morocco will be required.
The course will include
6 day SRA and IRF approved raft guide course
3 day Swift Water Rescue Course Unit 1
2 day Outdoor Water Based First Aid Course
2 weeks of raft guide improving courses and rescue practise around all the rivers of Scotland run by Splash white water senior guides including using duckies and river bugs
1 week of introduction to multi-day river trips and logistics in Morocco
3 day Canyoning course
2 day adventure film and media training
On successful full completion of the 6 weeks the top 4 students will be offered 5 month work contracts with local activity providers which will more than cover the investment in the course
All students who complete the course will have the ability to gain freelance work with local activity providers
Minimum of 10 students required to run the course and a maximum of 14

If the course is over subscribed a selection weekend will take place in October/Nov 2008
Improvers Raft Guide Course Nepal Oct 2008
A course aimed at raft guides who have not gained many miles of big water experience and the logistics knowledge of multi-day rafting. This 2 week course is suitable for raft guides who want to progress to big international rivers
These courses are run by IRF trainers and level 5 BCU coaches
On all Splash courses we aim to use a selection of rivers throughout Scotland during the course to enhance the experienced gained. We can also arrange for the course to be extended to include an international destination mult-day rafting expedition
