The Khek River in Thailand is also known as the Wang Thong River. The stunning water body meanders along the Phetchabun Mountains located in the Khao Kho District. Further in its course, the waterway flows through the Thung Salaeng Luang National Park and also passes along the Kaeng Sopha and Namtok Sri Drit waterfalls.  

The Khek River then moves along the Bang Krathum District and makes its way through Ban Sam Ruen, which happens to be placed at the boundary of Phitsanulok and Phinchit. The water body finally drains into the Nan River.   

The Khek River is hugely popular for the marvelous waterfalls present in its watercourse, which moreover makes its apt for rafting. Most of the rafting expeditions on the river take place in the Amphoe Wang Thong region. Worth mentioning, the river is studded with several beautiful rapids all along its watercourse, which include the famous “Nam Yen” Rapids.  

The Khek is characterized with swift waters and high-level rapids of Grade IV and V. The rapid currents, steep rapids and the wild whitewaters on the river make it a perfect rafting zone for expert rafters to explore. The volume of the river-water rises considerably during the rainy season, making the waterway much more challenging to raft on.
