Rafting Rivers of the World- California USA

Rafting the Tuolumne River

Situated at 30 minutes distance from the Yosemite National Park, the Tuolumne is one of the most famous rivers of California. Characterized primarily by Class IV + rapids, whitewater rafting in the Tuolumne is mainly meant for experienced rafters who have already acquired an advanced level of rafting skills. Situated far from the crowds and rush of city life, the Tuolumne’s remote location offers you the perfect scope to enjoy the primitive beauties of nature and the wildlife to which it forms habitat.

Famous as a “wild and scenic” river rafting canyon, the Tuolumne is full of steep technical rapids and long boulders strewn over its different parts. Keeping the safety requirements of rafters in mind, the minimum age for rafting in the Tuolumne is set at 14. If you are looking for a short, adventurous whitewater rafting experience, you can conveniently opt for the single, double or 3-day trips that are offered at the Tuolumne. The Tuolumne is divided into two main sections - the Main Tuolumne and the Tuolumne Creek. While the former is characterized by Class IV-V rapids, the Cherry Creek offers an even higher level of difficulty with its numerous Class V+ rapids. From the moment you start your river rafting trip, you can experience a challenging travel through the semi-hidden passageways running through the Rock Garden and Nemesis corridors. As you raft through the tall drops and strewn boulders, you arrive at the Class IV + Clavey Falls, which are often considered the central attraction of the trip. After a few mellower miles through the middle parts, you finally conclude the trip with some exciting final miles.
